'STAR WARS' AT 40: A GOLDEN HOPE!

With only the lonely remains of a Kratyt Dragon for company, Threepio, newly arrived on Tatooine via escape pod, and separated after a spat with Artoo, is on the brink of despair, until the sight of a potential transport rescue is soon discovered on the sandy horizon. According to Star Wars behind the scenes lore, the Krayt Dragon prop (previously a dinosaur that was in storage in the UK from the Disney movie One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing) was ultimately left behind to die at the Tunisian filming location in March 1976. The story of leftover props from the film there was later affectionately referenced by saga fan and legendary sci-fi writer Arthur C. Clarke in his best-selling classic 2010: Odyssey Two.
